I often fantasize about what it would be like to truly be anonymous. To blend in with the crowd. To be unseen, unheard, inconspicuous in every way. If it were possible, I’m sure it would create a certain uninhibited nature to even the most demure. The way people move to New York and then proceed to have private, vulgar, and wildly inappropriate conversations at shouting level on their cell phones as they walk through the farmers’ market in Union Square. I guess they figure, “Who cares? Who’s listening to me? I’m a needle in a hay stack.” And other than a few snickers at some particularly juicy tidbits that happen to be overheard, they’re right.

who’s looking? Counterfake is a concept magazine founded to showcase and generate socially and aesthetically challenging work. We need a freelance graphic designer, initially the mastermind behind our magazine’s look, and if all goes well, a project-by-project consultant. Counterfake is currently working on a series of mixtapes, podcasts, short films and apparel. Ideal: Someone who’d be interested in becoming a member.
